The third submission for week one features the most game mechanics in a single entry going back to even our first competition. Journey with the Bald Eagle and other birds as you take to building a nest. The journey has several game loops, a start and end screen.

The key idea behind the game is to collect ingredients and this unlocks a bigger and better bird. The individual game maps Heather put together are each unique and certainly great call backs to the 8-bit era.

The bird log tracks the birds who have come to visit your nest. I won’t spoil the list-there’s quite a few in there. The thunderbird I’m especially a fan of.

The thing that stands out in the submissions so far is just how much further the artistic aspects of the AI tools have pushed us. The game looks and sounds fun and interesting, as these systems have grown considerably since Q1 of this year. And Heather demonstrates with a little sacrifice of an all-nighter one can build quite an extensive title.
