OpenClaw Field Note

When Codex executes a testing plan

A one-sentence note about seeing agentic testing throughput in human-month terms.

This page mirrors one of Eric’s AdvisoryHour Substack notes into the OpenClaw section so the field receipts live with the rest of the operating-model work. Source note: c-214687996.

Original note

When Codex executes a testing plan and leaves you calculating the number of months it’d take you to do the same amount of work with human hands.

Why this belongs in the OpenClaw thread

This is one of the small receipts that makes the operating model legible: an agent is not just answering a prompt, it is taking a bounded piece of work, touching real infrastructure, and reporting back through the human’s existing loop.

The important pattern is not magic autonomy. It is delegation with enough scaffolding for review: clear task boundaries, observable progress, and a human who can decide whether the result deserves more authority next time.
