You might even see it.And at times, one might think… “I know, I’ll build a debugging tool to help the AI solve the problem!” and then in the process you create something that belongs on a wall in a coffee shop. It’s a place, and it’s information, and yet… it’s something more .Or at times it might be confused with a Tron sequel.This is an error that grew on me over time. It’s a screenshot, sure. However, if you look at this for a while you start seeing the leaks of information and detail that start to fill the mind. The shop, the apartment building, the foggy night-it’s the long night drive home that we’ve all done from time to time.And sometimes? Sometimes the world is just upside down. Yet, it’s… compelling. There’s a density that’s packed in there. You can see it. It’s like someone took a city and compressed it into a cloud.There was a tree problem. The trees were green. Very green. You might find this instructive in how I ended up solving the trees. This idea of “levels of detail” (“LOD”) is very powerful. You can do many things with it.And sometimes it’s just a 90s PC game, but that’s ok.You never know where your creations will take you. It’s important to just start building. Even when the reference is never quite realized, there’s something in the attempt that makes it worthwhile. There’s an age old saying that the journey is what matters, and not the destination. Even flawed, wrong or bust, there’s a certain art of the moment that’s captured.I hope you enjoyed seeing all these mistakes and errors. Sometimes there’s art, and sometimes it’s just an item on my list to be fixed. In either case, it’s unusual. Like a scene where reality and the virtual worlds converged.Paul Klee has a famous painting this next shot reminds me of. I’m not fully sure why-the colors, sure. It’s the composition. Almost like a secret is about to be revealed.I hope you enjoyed this tour of my errors, failures and tribulations.
