🚀 Summer 2026 AI Competition #2: Preplanning

Preplanning notes for the second AI competition: bigger field, wider network, more public proof-of-work, and an early-summer launch window.

What’s going on

A number of humans reached out about a second AI competition. Some at parties, some over the phone. And one of you asked to join in person.

In running the math the “I’m interested” is nearly 2x the number of participants from the first competition. A 200% increase from competition to competition is pretty surreal-and a sign that everyone is realizing “the past is over, it’s only the future now” The competition offers you something no one can get anywhere else: a diverse network of people, “proof of work”, and a taste of the future that you just won’t get from anyone else.

Eric routinely lives six months into the future. You know how he is.

The current thinking is the second competition heats up in the early summer month of June. Most likely in that second week of June timeframe. This is largely self-serving. Eric shared he has a few personal family matters to attend.

What’s different this time?

OK, writing in third person is weird. Let’s switch it up.

I have new tricks up my sleeve.

The Spring into Ai competition demonstrated the right way to learn about everything happening around us is by doing. And it isn’t just the weekly challenges that’ll be different: I’m exploring new ways to add a little energy into the competition.

The first thought is I’ll be saving a few extra dollars from my lunch money to file press releases. I’ve not a single clue or idea what’s even involved there, but it’ll be a great opportunity to get your entries into a wider view. Last time I wrote press releases was well over a decade ago. I’m sure a lot has change, and I’m also positive that there’s still a lot that’s the same.

The thought process is that by week two I’ll file a press release and expand the reach of what you’ve done-it’s less me and more promoting you. The bet: you’ll get the benefit of an anchor of real humans on their own networks, and then the competition will serve as a bridge to even further heights. It’s a big roll of the dice, it’s a little crazy, and it’ll follow with unknown results. I know of at least two sales deals that fell out of spring into ai. I’m not saying I create economic miracles.

OK, maybe I am saying that-just a smidge.

What about X or Y or Z? Well, I know a ChatGPT that has answers to those questions or concerns, and so do you.

What’s the competition theme?

I’m working on those details. We’re rapidly approaching June and so I’m gearing up my systems as I line everything up. We’ve new participants. AI has enabled a wider field. If you’re primarily technology only, then prepare to be challenged in new and exciting ways. It’ll be similar to before: I’ll be setting up clear scoring, an agent to facilitate all the scoring work, and I’ve got some real work to do.

If you were in #1, you’ll hear from me. For those who asked me explicitly to join #2, you’ll hear from me soon. If you aren’t in either, there’s still time to join. Message me directly and let’s chat.
